Happy 2018 everyone!

otometwist 2018 new year's resolutions

Alright, alright. It's been 2018 for a little over three weeks now, I know. I'm sorry if I wasn't able to check in here earlier.

I've been quite preoccupied with trying to get my life back on track. 2017 hadn't been such a great year for me. I talked about it in more detail in my personal game dev blog, if you're curious. Regardless, I would like to say that I'm doing much better now! I'm still not at the place where I want to be, but I'm getting there. Getting better, at least.

Of my three resolutions in 2017, I actually only managed to fulfill one-- and it's the easiest one too. Guess what? I finally got a domain name of my own, yay! I still don't have a custom host set up for this blog, though. Hopefully, I can finally get one this year.

Despite all the hurdles and setbacks that I experienced in 2017, that still doesn't keep me away from trying to reach all my goals. And that is why... I'm back with a new list of resolutions for 2018! Keeping my fingers crossed for this year's list.

2018 New Year's Resolutions

  • Keep up the custom blog domain!
  • Post more regularly
  • Finish all pre-2017 visual novels in queue
  • Post more 'feature' posts
I'm embarrassed to read my post from my last year, where I said, "I tried to make my resolutions for this year a lot more realistic, so that I’ll have a bigger chance of actually achieving them." Look where that got me, huh?

Nevertheless, I'm going to keep shooting for the stars this year, with these new resolutions!

For the first one, of course, I'd like to continue keeping my blog domain. This one is a pretty obvious one! I'd also like to host my own blog this year, but I'm still quite unsure about that one. We'll see how it goes.

The second resolution is something that I keep trying to fulfill every single year, but so far, still hasn't accomplished. Like I said, 2017 was pretty problematic for me, and I'm ashamed to say that I wasn't able to keep my schedule very organized. This year, I plan to be extremely strict with myself when it comes to keeping a regular schedule for this blog. It's about time, anyway! I'm graduating from university this June, so I really need to learn how to do 'adulting'. And that means being organized with my schedule.

Thirdly, I want to finally, finally clear my queue. This is in line with my second resolution, I believe. After all, if I can keep a regular schedule for this blog, then that means I would be able to eventually clear my queue. Hooray!

The last one is actually the one that I'm most excited about. Believe it or not, I was part of the school paper for about seven years, and I really enjoy all forms of writing. I used to compete in interschool competitions for journalistic writing! I tried writing some feature posts for this blog (here and here), and I really enjoyed it, so I plan to do more features this year.

So, that's it for now! I really have a good feeling about 2018, and I do hope that it will be a much better year for all of us, not just for me. Here's to another year of fun, happiness, laughter, and valuable experiences!

Once again, happy new year everyone!
