2017 New Year’s Resolutions: Review Blog Edition

1/01/2017

Happy new year everyone!

I can’t believe it’s already 2017… oh my, how fast time flies!

This is going to be my 6th year running this blog /slash/ online journal, and I’m feeling really grateful and happy that people still visit this little space of mine. Hope to see you guys for more years to come!

And of course, it’s time for that age-old tradition almost everyone does every beginning of the year… New Year’s Resolutions!

Ran’s New Year’s Resolutions: Review Blog Edition

• post reviews more regularly
• finish reviewing all pre-2016 visual novels in my queue
• get a custom domain name for this blog!

Hehe, I tried to make my resolutions for this year a lot more realistic, so that I’ll have a bigger chance of actually achieving them.

For the first one, I plan to post at least once per week, or perhaps two if my schedule allows it. (I’ll be going on an internship this June-July, so it might be hard to stick through with this then, but I’ll do my best!) Most of the time, I neglect to post things because I procrastinate after playing by not immediately writing my review. By the time I remember to make one, I’ve already forgotten most of the things I wanted to say, haha. I already have like 6 posts in my drafts right now though, ready to get scheduled, so... it's a start!

I’ve also decided to restart the “How to make a visual novel” series again, for beginners or enthusiasts who are interested in creating their own VN. If more interested people learn how to make VNs of their own, then that means more VNs to play, and more VNs for me to review! Hooray. Hahaha.

For the second one, this is mainly because of the fact that I’ve got sooooo many visual novels in my queue that I’ve yet to play and/or review. So sometimes, when I see an interesting new game that I want to play, I feel guilty because I know I still have so many games that I should play first. Urk. If I can finish all of them this year, then I’ll be free to play and review other games, hehe, and therefore can finally review new releases. Win-win.

For the third one, haha, well… I’ve always wanted to have a custom blog domain, and maybe even have a custom host! But I never got around to doing it because I thought it was too expensive for my student budget. I already saved up a bit though, and I’m ready to take the plunge.

Okay, so those three are basically my New Year’s Resolutions for this blog, my review / visual novel journal blog. If you’re interested in knowing my New Year’s Resolutions for my dev blog, then you can check it out here.

Anyway, what about you? Got any New Year’s Resolutions for 2017? Feel free to share them below, and let’s reach all our goals together!
